TREEPRINT WORKSHOP COMING SOON

The TreePrint workshop, March 31 and April 1, will provide decision makers with the tools necessary to quantify the economic benefits of urban forests and explain how trees can create and preserve a sense of place and boost the local economy. The workshop will reveal the benefits of developing a community TreePrint project and incorporating tree plantings into new development projects, roadway expansion projects, and neighborhood parks. Hear local officials discuss the importance of historic trees, tree ordinances, and the value of including trees in community planning activities. Jack Steele, Executive Director of H-GAC, will discuss opportunities to support regional tree planting initiatives and develop community forests. Participants will leave with a plan to increase the tree canopy in their community. The event will be at the TxDOT Training Facility, 7600 Washington Avenue. For more information or to register visit the TreePrint website or contact Michael Merritt at (713) 668-8931 or mmerritt@tfs.tamu.edu
