EARTH HOUR IS MARCH 29

World Wildlife Fund is coordinating Earth Hour, a global initiative in which cities and communities across the globe will turn out their lights from 8 to 9 pm on Saturday, March 29 to symbolize their leadership and commitment to finding solutions for climate change. The inaugural Earth Hour took place in Sydney, Australia in March 2007. More than 2.2 million people participated. The Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge went dark. The result was 10 percent drop in energy usage – double what had been predicted. In the US, Atlanta, Phoenix, Chicago, Denver, and San Francisco are participating.
