CITIZENS’ TRANSPORTATION COALITION URGES ATTENDANCE AT HEARINGS ON TTC-69 BEGINNING FEBRUARY 4
The proposed IH-69 portion of the Trans-Texas Corridor could run from Texarkana through Houston to Corpus Christi, Brownsville, and Laredo. The plans for the greater Houston area are really, really vague. TxDOT recently released a draft environmental impact statement for TTC-69, which is available online. Federal law requires TxDOT to solicit and respond to comments from the public regarding the project’s purpose, need, scope, environmental impacts, mitigation, and more. There will be 46 public hearings held along the proposed corridor in the next month. All of the events include an open house at 5:30 pm followed by a formal public hearing at 6:30 pm.Next week, there will be hearings in Huntsville at the Walker County Fairgrounds on Monday, February 4, and in Cleveland, at the Cleveland Civic Center, on Tuesday, February 5. There will be a hearing in Houston on Tuesday, February 12, at the Arabia Shrine Center, 2900 North Braeswood. For the complete schedule of heaings, see this listing.
