BELL TO TALK ABOUT WORKING WITH ELECTED OFFICIALS AT SEPTEMBER 20 LEADERSHIP LUNCHEON
Chris Bell, a former member of Congress and a three-term at-large member of the Houston City Council, will be the speaker at the CEC Leadership Luncheon on Thursday, September 20 from 11:30 am to 1 pm. Bell’s topic will be “How To Work With Elected Officials.†If you’re interested in environmental activism, this talk is for you. Bell began his career as journalist, covering both general news and legal and political developments. In Congress, Bell served as a senior whip for his caucus. As the Democratic nominee for Governor in 2006, Bell raised brought attention to important environmental issues such as the financial crisis for state parks. He is currently of counsel at Patton Boggs LLP, where he counsels clients on a wide range of matters related to public policy and lobbying issues, administrative and regulatory matters.

Our October Leadership Luncheon will feature a panel discussion about finding funding for organizational development. Judy Hatcher of the Environmental Support Center in Washington will be one of the panelists. That luncheon will be Tuesday, October 23.
