SCHOOL GARDENING WORKSHOP AUG 9

Urban Harvest invites teachers, parents, and garden volunteers of all experience levels to Browning Elementary, 607 Northwood, on Thursday, August 9th, for a lesson introducing children to gardening. The workshop lasts from 9 am to 3 pm and covers growing tips, planting projects, garden sustainability, curriculum integration, project maintenance, wildlife gardening, and nutrition reinforcement for kids grades K-8. The workshop includes lunch and costs $45 dollars, although scholarships are available for parents and community volunteers. Registration will be limited to the first 100 applicants, and walk-ins will be admitted as space permits. Teachers will receive six SBEC credits. For more information, call (713) 880-5540.
