GRANTS FOR URBAN AND COMMUNITY FORESTRY PROGRAMS
The Texas Forest Service is offering partnership grants to start or improve a community tree management program. Priority projects include: hiring a municipal forester or arborist to run a tree program, conducting tree inventories, writing tree management plans, writing tree ordinances, or supporting local tree groups or tree boards. Grants range from $1,000 to $30,000 and must be matched dollar for dollar. The deadline is Thursday, July 26. For more information, see the program’s website.
