GHASP SEEKS EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Galveston Houston Association for Smog Prevention (GHASP), a local non-profit organization whose mission is to persuade government and corporate leaders to prevent smog, seeks an executive director. The successful candidate should have a degree in public policy or administration, environmental science or engineering, public health, or a related field. At least two years experience in fundraising, non-profit administration, government relations, regulatory policy or research project management is desired. This person should be an excellent communicator and have strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Responsibilities include: leading the development and implementation of strategic policy objectives; designing, implementing and managing a development plan; and coordinating specific policy positions before legislators, regulators, researchers, industry, other advocates, the media and the public, including participation in meetings, conferences, workshops, and regulat ory and judicial proceedings as appropriate.
