INTRODUCING CEC’S NEW STAFF

Donna Marie Platt will be the new executive director of the Citizens’ Environmental Coalition. She will begin work on June 18. Donna has devoted her career to non-profit organizations. She started with a B.A. in International Careers and Psychology from Lehigh University. Her non-profit work began with The Houston Zoo as a membership associate. From there, she moved to Houston PBS as the direct marketing manager. Donna has spent the past five years as the development director for the Pacifica Foundation, KPFT 90.1 FM, Houston. In that job, she managed staff, grant funding, and membership growth programs for this listener-sponsored radio station. She earned her Masters in Public Administration from the University of Houston while working at KPFT.The CEC’s summer intern, Lauren Barth, started May 29. She will be working on the Update, helping with outreach, and researching legislative issues. Lauren just completed her sophomore year at Wesleyan University, where she is double majoring in Government and Psychology. She grew up in League City, and loved the four years she spent attending high school at Duchesne Academy. Her interests include reading, writing, sailing, learning about world religions, and eating as much Soy Delicious ice cream as possible.

Ella Tyler, currently managing editor, will become the outreach and communication director.
