WATER FESTIVAL ON MAY 10
The city of Houston’s Water Festival will be Thursday, May 10, from 10 am to 2 pm at Downtown Aquarium, 410 Bagby (outside). Mayor White will proclaim May as Water Conservation Awareness Month and greet the student winners of the 2007 Water Conservation T-Shirt Design Contest. Festival attendees will learn how to conserve and protect regional water resources while exploring the 50 interactive exhibits hosted by water professionals and environmental educators. Students will participate in a Water Festival Scavenger Hunt to find answers to water-related questions at each booth. Groups of ten or more students should pre-register so ample educational materials will be available. The City will also unveil plans for The WaterWorks: Houston Water Museum + Education Center, opening Fall 2008 at the Northeast Water Purification Plant. The event is free.
