MONTGOMERY COLLEGE TO CELEBRATE NATURE NEXT WEEKEND
Montgomery College and the Montgomery County Beautification Association will host “Spring Fling: Celebrating Nature in our Community†at Montgomery College on Saturday, March 3, from 10 am to 2 pm.There will be educational exhibits from Texas Cooperative Extension, Texas Forest Service, the Humane Society of Montgomery County, and Texas Parks and Wildlife. Children’s activities include habitat exploration, tree identification, birdhouse building, learning about aquifers, and recycled papermaking. Smokey the Bear, Buzz the Bee, Sparky the Firedog, and Puffy the Pinecone will be available for free photos.
As part of the celebration, the Montgomery College Writers in Performance series will present a discussion featuring area authors who contributed to “Falling from Grace in Texas: A Literary Response to the Demise of Paradise.†Mark Busby, Pat Little Dog, Bryce Milligan, Clay Reynolds and Carmen Tafolla will present readings about the rich diversity of our threatened Texas landscapes, coastlines, and waterways. The discussion will be at 10 am in the Building B auditorium. The event is free and open to the public. Montgomery College is located at 3200 College Park Drive, approximately one-quarter mile west of I-45 between Conroe and The Woodlands.
