AVIAN CONSERVATION BIOLOGIST OPENING

The Gulf Coast Bird Observatory is seeking an avian conservation biologist. GCBO is dedicated to the study and conservation of birds and their habitat in and around the Gulf of Mexico.The staffer will conduct standardized avian monitoring, carry out research on migrant bird populations, compile and manage data, provide technical guidance to volunteers and field staff as needed, and develop proposals and other funding mechanisms to secure the future of migratory birds. Qualifications include good understanding of all aspects of terrestrial bird monitoring, advanced degree or equivalent in relevant discipline, and strong commitment to conservation through science.
