CEC’S RECORDS HAVE A NEW HOME

CEC has donated its historical records to Houston History Archives, a public repository for books, documents, oral histories, and images. Under the administrative umbrella of the University of Houston’s Center for Public History, Houston History Archives operates interactively with the Houston Oral History Project and the Houston Review of History and Culture to collect, preserve, and educate concerning Houston’s history. The archives collect materials related to the Houston region’s growth and development from the nineteenth century to the present. Areas of special interest include the role of energy development in Houston’s history, documentation of Houston’s environmental history and activism, and historical records of Houston’s racial and ethnic diversity and activism. CEC’s records collection, dating from 1966 through 2000, join The Park People records now being processed and the accumulating Terry Hershey papers.
