JOIN TEAMING WITH WILDLIFE COALITON
Teaming With Wildlife is a national coalition of more than 3,000 organizations and businesses that support increased state and federal funding for wildlife conservation and related recreation and education in every state. Founded in 1991, the coalition helped pass federal legislation in 2000 that created a state wildlife grants program. That program required every state to develop a statewide wildlife action plan. All state plans were completed by the end of 2005.As the state wildlife agencies submit their plans, Teaming With Wildlife is mobilizing again to secure the funding to implement these plans. The group intends to build public support for the resources the state plans need for success. The initiative is kicking off in February.
Shelly Plante, nature tourism coordinator for Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, is coordinating a drive to increase coalition membership from Texas. Membership is free and requires only an endorsement form.
