WILDFLOWER PLANTING AT UH-DOWNTOWN SATURDAY
Volunteers are invited to join students from the UH-Downtown Environmental Club, and HISD high school and elementary students from the Earth Tomorrow Program, to plant wildflowers on Saturday, Dec 16. The group will meet under the Main Street Bridge and Metro Light Rail at UH-Downtown at 8:30 am. Volunteers will be sowing native wildflower and grass seed in the park spaces along White Oak Bayou around UH-Downtown, Main Street, and the Willow Street Pump Station. Water, hot chocolate, hand tools, and gloves will be provided. For lunch, vegetarian “stone soup” will be made on site and volunteers are asked to bring something to add to the pot.
