CALL FOR PAPERS
The Galveston Bay Estuary Program invites oral and poster presentations and proposals for panel sessions during its Eighth Biennial State of the Bay Symposium to be held in January 2007 in Galveston. The topics should be of special interest to estuary business, industry, recreation, education, academic, local government, resource management, and environmental communities. The content of the presentations need not be limited to Galveston Bay, but applicable to estuarine systems such as the bay.
Presentations and panel sessions will focus on topics related to habitat and living resource conservation; balancing human uses and environmental needs of estuaries, water/sediment quality and pollutant loadings, public participation and education, the latest research needs and findings, environmental monitoring, and programmatic performance measures. Those wishing to present an oral or poster presentation must submit an abstract by Oct 13. For more information, visit the Estuary Program symposium page or contact Scott A. Jones at sjones@tceq.state.tx.us or (281) 486-1245.
