FARMERS’ MARKET CELEBRATES SECOND BIRTHDAY

Celebrate the second anniversary of Urban Harvest’s Bayou City Farmers Market on Saturday, Sept 16, from 8 am to noon. Enjoy hand-cranked ice cream (made from the milk of locally pastured, grass-fed Jersey cows), homemade birthday cake, live music, and a kids corner with seed planting, face painting, and storytelling. The market is near Greenway Plaza, in the back parking lot of the office building at 3000 Richmond at Eastside.

Bayou City Farmers’ Market vendors include local small-scale produce growers as well as family farms producing grass-fed meats, local honey, cage-free eggs, and goats milk products. The market is open on Wednesdays from 4 to 7 pm and on Saturdays from 8 am to noon, rain or shine. A list of vendors is available at the Urban Harvest website. Regular weekly events include live music and cooking demonstrations using seasonal produce.
