JIM BLACKBURN TO SPEAK IN LIBERTY ON BIOLOGICAL DIVERSITY
The Lower Trinity Valley Bird Club will host environmental attorney James Blackburn, Jr, speaking on saving biological diversity in the Houston region on Saturday, Sept 9, at 10 am. The talk will be at the First Liberty National Bank, 1900 Sam Houston. It is free and the public is invited. An attorney for more than 30 years, Jim Blackburn is a partner in Blackburn & Carter, a firm devoted to environmental law. He is also an adjunct professor at Rice University. His honors include the National Conservation Achievement Award in 2001 from the National Wildlife Federation and the Bob Elkhart Lifetime Achievement Award for coastal preservation efforts from the General Land Office of the State of Texas in 1998. He wrote The Book of Texas Bays, published by Texas A&M press.
