PLAYING THE BLUES FOR A GREEN CAUSE

Galveston Bay Conservation and Preservation Association presents the Bay Preservation Jam on Sunday, June 4, from 1 – 5 pm. The performers include Rocky Hill, Janet Z, Jon Townsend with Danny D, and Viva Los Chuyz. The event will be at Landolt Pavilion at Clear Lake Park.

Hill is known as one of the best of the real bluesmen. He has worked with such legends as Freddy King, Jimmy Reed, John Lee Hooker, and Big Mama Thornton. Janet Z, a talented local artist, has opened for Asleep at the Wheel. Townsend has a vocal style reminiscent of Paul McCartney, a guitar likened to Stevie Ray Vaughn, and piano playing like Elton John. Viva Los Chuyz is a Tex Mex meets Reggae band.
