Description: A community garden is a big project, but with the right planning it will become an authentic oasis and a fun place for people to gather together, grow food and build community. This class gives you all of the tools necessary to organize a successful community garden endeavor, including planning, goal setting, establishing priorities, creating plans of action, organizing volunteers and funding. Additionally, we cover the fundamentals of building the garden which include: space savvy bed arrangements, dimensions, materials, best soil choices, and more. Finally, we review the best vegetables to grow in the Houston area.
