Wild & Scenic Film Festival On Tour @ River Oaks Theatre | Houston | Texas | United States

Join the Citizens Environmental Coalition (CEC) for a night of environmental inspiration as we host the first Houston screening of The Wild & Scenic Film Festival On Tour!

The Wild & Scenic Film Festival, North America’s largest environmental film festival, will bring two hours of beautiful, educational and inspiring films to the big screen at River Oaks Theatre on January 29th from 6:30 – 9:00pm. We have selected films that cover a variety of issues, and it is our hope to use the festival to increase community understanding of the connection we share with the planet and our roles as stewards of the environment in which we live.

Of the nine movie shorts featured at the tour in Houston is “TEJAS,” a local film by t.e.j.a.s. (Texas Environmental Justice Advocacy Services) that covers air quality and environmental justice; “I am Red,” a short film about water and fish conservation along the Colorado River; and “Idle Threat,” a lively look at one man’s spirited struggle to improve public health by raising awareness about the health and environmental threats that idling engines pose. The festival is a natural extension of CEC’s work to inspire people to act on behalf of the environment.
