Xtreme Hummingbird Xtravaganza

The Gulf Coast Bird Observatory’s Xtreme Hummingbird Xtravaganza continues this Saturday with a guest lecture and demonstration on photographing Hummingbirds by Mike Gray and Dick Barrett. If you missed last Saturday’s celebration, you still have three more Saturdays in September to enjoy the show.
In addition to the many Ruby-throated Hummingbirds that were captured, banded, and released, the bird banders also captured Alder Flycatchers, Painting Buntings, Blue Grosbeaks, and Yellow Warblers – the latter three some of the most colorful birds to pass through Brazoria County every fall as they make their way to their wintering grounds to the south.
Come on out and watch the banding, adopt a hummingbird, browse the Nature Store, walk the nature trails, or buy a plant to attract hummingbirds and butterflies.   More at http://www.gcbo.org.
