Description: The Sam Houston Trails Coalition (SHTC) represents all trail enthusiasts including: motorized, equestrian, mountain biking, and hiking groups. Their goal is to work in partnership with the Forest Service to improve existing trails and to reach consensus among the diverse interest groups for future trail projects including adding designated equestrian trails. Their efforts will help the FS focus on projects on which the group has reached consensus. This approach is likely to improve communications among trail users, improve efficiency for FS planning efforts, and lead to better decisions for future trails.
This workshop is to introduce the basics of how the Forest Service operates. And some of the Forest Service specialists will talk about what they do.
