Limited Kiosk Opening @ Boy Scout Woods Sanctuary

The kiosk at Boy Scout Woods opens on Friday, March 29 and closes on Sunday, May 5. Many activities are planned, including:

  • Birding walks – 3 times/day (Apr. 4 – 29)
  • Photography walks (Apr. 4-29)
  • Bird-friendly plant sale (Apr. 1 until sold out)
  • Land Sea & Sky binoculars – weekends in April
  • Flight in Focus – 2-day photography event (Apr. 6-7)

Texas Watershed Stewardship Workshop @ Prairie View A&M Northwest Educational Bldg

The Texas Watershed Steward program is a free, educational workshop designed to help watershed residents improve and protect their water resources by getting involved in local watershed protection and management activities.

Free lunch starts at 12:00 for attendees that register by end-of-day, April 22nd

The workshop will provide an overview of water quality and watershed management in Texas, including a discussion on Cypress Creek and efforts by the Houston-Galveston Area Council and local stakeholders to help improve and protect it. Free continuing education credits offered for a wide variety of professional disciplines. HREG Solar Workshop @ TX/RX Labs

HREG - Own Your PowerThis free, monthly workshop addresses the basics on how to install and operate a solar system.  It covers topics such as solar array types, costs of equipment and labor, permitting, energy savings, and reliability. The instructor, Bill Swann, is an expert in solar energy and has built many of his own solar systems. This workshop is ideal for all people; Bill can answer the simplest and most technical of questions. If you want to learn more about solar, this is the workshop for you.
