Hermann Park Bird Survey

Masks are optional for vaccinated participants and social distancing is recommended. Please wear a mask if unvaccinated. Please contact Julie Francis at hermannparkbirdsurvey@gmail.com if you’d like to participate. The Hermann Park Survey is conducted on the second Monday of the month. Everyone is welcome — beginners, experts, or even if you’re just curious. Please bring binoculars. If you don’t have any, let them know in advance and they’ll provide them.

Guided tours by Arboretum experts at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. (Coffee, water and snacks provided)
WHAT TO EXPECT:
- You will be immersed in the environment before even getting out of your car
- The tour goes through the new parking loop, past the two new ponds and through several of the new trails, including the donor boardwalk
- Â Will showcase the savanna field station
- Â Will include info on sustainable measures we took, restoration information and visitor amenities
- A new entrance wall and gate and a new fence that allows visual access to walkers, runners and bikers on the hike and bike trails
- New ponds that are already home to wildlife such as turtles, tadpoles, insects and birds

Go and celebrate Pollinator Week on Saturday and Sunday with Texas Parks and Wildlife at the park! The importance of these birds, bats, bees, and butterflies are more than just their beauty!
Join a Park Ranger on a guided hike to see the different wildflowers native to the area. They will stop and talk about the different plants and the pollinators that depend on pollinators!
