Brought to you by the Greater East End Management District, the East End Street Market is open every Sunday from 10am – 2pm on the Navigation Esplanade (2800 Navigation Blvd.) in front of the historic original Ninfa’s Restaurant.

Unique among Houston’s farmers markets, the East End Street Market blends sights and sounds, cuisine and culture to create an experience that is rooted in one of Houston’s most historic communities.

Audubon Bird Survey @ Kickerillo-Mischer Preserve

Meeting Time: 8:00 a.m. in front of the restrooms

Precinct 4’s Kickerillo-Mischer Preserve is an 80-acre property featuring Marshall Lake, which spans approximately 40 acres, plus a staff building, paved roads and parking lots, restroom facilities, and 1.7 miles of trails. Houston Audubon’s survey takes place on the third Tuesday of each month starting in December. Email Mary Anne Weber to be put on the notification list.

Plant It Forward Farm Stand @ Plant It Forward Warehouse

Plant It Forward farms are selling fresh produces directly on-the-farm at their neighborhood Farm Stands. You can stop by during Farm Stand hours to buy freshly harvested produce from your friendly neighborhood farmer.

Children’s Story Hour @ The Family Garden in the McGovern Centennial Gardens

Woodland Park Bird Survey @ Woodland Park

Meet count leader Jason Bonilla in the parking lot of Woodland Park. Please note that the park does not have a maintained trail system. As such, there is a lot of poison ivy that is somewhat unavoidable when walking the park and looking for birds. Additionally, there are terrain changes and unstable areas. Participants should wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. They usually meet on the fourth Saturday of the month.

The Jones-Bender, Judy Overby Bell and Spring Creek Greenway trails are open for bicycling. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

All Jesse H. Jones Park & Nature Center programs and events are free of charge unless otherwise noted and open to the public regardless of socioeconomic level, race, color, sex, physical ability, national origin, or religion. Anyone requiring special assistance to participate in these programs should contact the nature center. Programs meet at the Nature Center unless otherwise noted. Solid shoes are recommended.
