Hit the Hill with Nature Heritage Society for a fun and exhilarating hike. All ages and fitness levels are welcome. It’s a family affair. The Trail is approximately 2.5 miles; shorter routes are available. Registration will begin at 8:45 a.m., and the hike will follow shortly after at 9.

The Adult Owl Prowl is the perfect way to spend a Saturday night in nature. Learn about the wise and wonderful owls you can find in Houston, and get up close and personal with live owls from the Wildlife Center of Texas. After the presentation, participants will head out into the woods to look for owls (and other nocturnal animals) along the Arboretum trails. Enjoy light snacks, wine, beer, and hot drinks to warm you up after the night’s walk.

May is Preservation Month and the Historic Resources Committee, in partnership with the National Trust and Association for Preservation Technology Texas invite you to join them at a Happy Hour at Public Services on Tuesday May 28, 5:30pm—7:30pm. Memorial Park Conservancy’s State of the Park Breakfast is an annual moment to celebrate recent improvements and share current and future projects in Memorial Park. Shellye Arnold, President & CEO of Memorial Park Conservancy, will present a State of the Park address, including an update on the Ten-Year Plan, a significant component of the bold and thoughtful Memorial Park Master Plan. The Conservancy is honored to welcome Maura Lout, the Executive Director of the Central Park Conservancy Institute for Urban Parks, as the keynote speaker of the inaugural event.

Guests will also see the debut of the 2019 Memorial Park Conservancy video and receive the first distribution of the 2019 annual report.

Transportation and the City  is a fundraiser benefiting LINK Houston’s advocacy for a more robust and equitable transportation network so that all people can reach opportunity.
