As part of Mercer Botanic Gardens’ Pollinator Festival and Fall Plant Sale on Saturday, October 6, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., individuals and groups are invited to create a pollinator-related scarecrow for display in the gardens from Saturday, October 6 to Wednesday, October 31.
Entry forms are available at hcp4.net. Forms also available at Mercer Botanic Gardens on the Visitor’s Center table. All entrants will be contacted by Mercer upon receipt of the form.

The first person to hear the idea to create Houston Tomorrow around the mission of improving the quality of life for everyone in Houston was Ann Hamilton, then of Houston Endowment. In 1998, when Houston Tomorrow created the region’s quality of life movement, we began to look around the nation and the world to see what was working in cities to bring measurable improvement to people’s lives. Thousands of people changed Houston’s story; It’s time to celebrate them.

Greens Bayou Coalition is hosting its 3rd Annual Regatta along a 7.5-mile stretch of Greens Bayou on Saturday, October 13, 2018. The purpose of the event is to combine recreation, stewardship and education along Greens Bayou, as well as raise funds to continue development of a 27.5-mile paddle trail.
