Olivewood Cemetery Clean-up @ Historic Olivewood Cemetery
Apr 21 @ 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Olivewood is located next to White Oak Bayou, and is therefore surrounded by lush flora. It only takes about a week in the summer for the cemetery to be overrun with vegetation. Beyond routine mowing and weeding, the Descendants of Olivewood have begun projects to beautify individual plots, restoring the old landscaping that has changed with time. If you have a knack for clearing brush and landscaping areas that have been lost to time, you would certainly do well to join us on the first or third Saturday of the month. Check the events calendar to stay informed about upcoming events. We welcome individuals and groups for sponsored clean up days, or to join us for a general clean-up day.
Please visit their website for more information about the cemetery and cleanup effort.

Our work days will include planting trees and starting a pocket prairie. There may be some additional work to clear non natives growing in the warm weather. We will start at 9am and coffee will be provided. Bring a light breakfast snack to share. Bring a wheelbarrow, if you have one, garden gloves and shovel.
