The Jones-Bender, Judy Overby Bell and Spring Creek Greenway trails are open for bicycling. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

All Jesse H. Jones Park & Nature Center programs and events are free of charge unless otherwise noted and open to the public regardless of socioeconomic level, race, color, sex, physical ability, national origin, or religion. Encourage your child’s curiosity about nature and spend time with them exploring outdoors! Children 18 months to 3 years, with their adult companions, can join a naturalist for a story reading, a simple nature activity or craft, and a stroller-friendly hike on the beautiful Arboretum trails. Enjoy an interesting new nature experience each week with themes such as turtles, armadillos, spiders, and trees.

Please dress for weather. Tyke Hikes take place rain or shine. Closed-toe shoes are best for trail hikes. Older preschoolers are welcome but are the responsibility of the adult companion.

Science Sprouts is an exciting series for curious kids that love nature and science. Classes will include a short lesson on the topic of the day followed by a nature walk on the trails of the Arboretum. Each class will have a fun mixture of games, live animals, biofacts, crafts, story time, or music. Parents are welcome to participate with their child, or drop them off. Every Thursday, rain or shine, from 2 pm to 6 pm (3 pm to 7 pm during Daylight Saving Time), Lake Houston Area residents visit Kingwood Town Center Park to pick up produce, fresh bread, homemade soaps, herbs, flowers, plants, Indian food, and more from Kingwood Farmers Market.

The Kingwood Famers Market makes our community stronger because shoppers have the opportunity to meet the faces behind their food and vendors get chance to meet and connect with the communities they nourish.
