On Tuesday, April 17th, HARC will continue its People & Nature Speaker Series featuring an evening with Rear Admiral Jonathan White, United States Navy (Retired), CEO and President of the Consortium for Ocean Leadership (COL). Admiral White will discuss climate and ocean issues in the context of national security, energy and economic prosperity with a focus on opportunities and solutions for the future. The event, held at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston, Brown Auditorium, will begin at 6:00 pm. Guests are invited to continue the conversation at a post-event reception.

On April 21, 2018, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., Game Wardens will host their third annual Spring Outdoor Celebration at Mont Belvieu City Park. Texas Game Wardens are excited to introduce outdoor recreational activities to the youth and other citizens. Participation in all activities is free. Activities include archery, fishing, kayaking, rock climbing, door prizes, and much more. They hope to promote involvement and utilization of the natural resources within the community. The Houston-Galveston Area Council (H–GAC), has partnered with Waller County, to create a transportation plan for the county. The Waller County Transportation Plan will examine current and future transportation, land use, and socio-economic conditions, both within and surrounding Waller County.
The focus of the plan will be to determine Waller County’s future transportation infrastructure needs while preserving the county’s environmentally sensitive areas, agricultural land uses and heritage. The project timeframe is 18 months.
The Waller County Transportation Plan will include recommended revisions to the county thoroughfare plan, and the creation of prioritized projects and policies in the form of “implementation workbooks†for each of the participating jurisdictions.
