Continuing our wildly successful 2017 showing, the Citizens’ Environmental Coalition is proud to bring the Wild & Scenic Film Festival on Tour, one of the largest environmental film festivals in North America, back to Houston for two nights: January 24 & 25, 2018!
We invite you to join us at the 2018 W&SFF On Tour to be held at the historic River Oaks Theatre, where up to 450 patrons each night will enjoy about ten short films each night highlighting the latest environmental issues. We selected films that showcase the links between beauty, environment, adventure, quality of life, and action.
By showing these films, CEC is working to connect individuals and organizations to create a stronger Gulf Coast environmental community.
2018 Sponsorship
We invite you to become a sponsor of this exciting event. Sponsorship is an amazing opportunity to align your organization with our community and inspire people to take environmental action where they live. You will also support over 130 local organizations that are part of the CEC, and raise awareness for your own green initiatives.
To learn more, please contact rachel@cechouston.org or 713-524-4232 for more information. For the latest scoop, check out the event page on Facebook.

Paddle along the scenic trees of Armand Bayou and try to spot some of the 370 species of birds, mammals, reptiles, and amphibians that call it home. You might even catch a glimpse of one of the dozens of alligators making their home on the bayou. Armand Bayou lies along the Central Flyway, the largest migratory bird route in North America. For more information, visit artistboat.org.
Kayak the beautiful Artist Boat Coastal Heritage Preserve. This destination occurs at the natural and restored marshes protecting one of the most pristine examples of a dune/swale complex on Galveston Island. Artist Boat has worked hard to acquire over 600 acres of the coastal prairies and wetlands on Settegast Road through million dollar grants and community donations. Join us to discover the wonders of the dune/swale complex and wetlands and to celebrate nature while envisioning our future home.
The Coastal Heritage Preserve location includes a 0.3 mile easy walk through the Artist Boat Coastal Heritage Preserve to the launch site. This may make the destination unsuitable for bringing your own kayak as you would be responsible for carrying it to and from the launch site.
Explore natural marsh and the largest area of natural seagrass beds in the Galveston Bay system as you paddle along looking for pelicans, herons, egrets, and more. For more information, visit artistboat.org.
