On Saturday, September 8 at 10:00 am, come to Emancipation Park, 2018 Emancipation Ave, Houston and join in with thousands of others in cities and towns around the world to demand our local and federal leaders commit to building a fossil free world that works for all of us. Join Citizens’ Climate Lobby as they build political will for legislation on a federal level that will put a price on carbon pollution through a carbon fee and dividend.Â
Greens Bayou Coalition is hosting its 3rd Annual Regatta along a 7.5-mile stretch of Greens Bayou on Saturday, October 13, 2018. The purpose of the event is to combine recreation, stewardship and education along Greens Bayou, as well as raise funds to continue development of a 27.5-mile paddle trail. The event will showcase two proposed launch locations, Brock Park and Thomas Bell Foster Park. For more information, and to register, visit greensbayouregatta.rallybound.org.

Join Buffalo Bayou Partnership for Texas’ largest canoe and kayak race – the 47th Annual Buffalo Bayou Partnership Regatta on March 9th. Paddlers, ages 12 and up, are encouraged to participate in the 15-mile race along the scenic Buffalo Bayou. Whether you are entering competitively or paddling for pleasure, you won’t want to miss out on this longstanding Houston tradition.

On March 15th, in Houston City Hall, from 12-2 p.m., Houston students/climate activists/teachers will be gathering to demand Texas legislators take action against climate change.

A series of short films about Houston’s environment begins on the Anheuser-Busch stage from noon to 4 p.m. Participants are invited to view them throughout the afternoon. Urban Harvest and Churrascos food truck will be on-site serving healthy snacks and meals.
Throughout the day enjoy live painting by Houston artists completing murals that celebrate the richness and diversity of our community, culture, and natural environment. The 13 artists were chosen from 111 applicants for their designs that envision the Houston we want to see and inspire us to create that shared future together. Their work will be on display at the park through October 2021.
