Houston City Council Agenda – January 7, 2020
The City will consider the following agenda items at the Houston City Council meeting scheduled for Tuesday, January 7, 2020, in the City Hall Chamber at 1:30 PM (public comment) and at 9:00 AM on Wednesday, January 8, 2019. The agenda includes recommendations to keep up with the City’s request-based sidewalks in areas in which it will meet the needs of its residence, final contract amount for the City’s Water Replacement program and the purchase of the Parcel KY17-030 for the easement acquisition for the 108-inch Water Line Project. The agenda also includes multiple ordinances pertaining to agreements made between the City of Houston and the Texas Water Board, the City of Houston and Environmental Defense Fund, the Citywide Street and Traffic Rehabilitation 2 with SP Engineering and final approval of the Professional Engineering Service Contract with Lockwood, Andrew & Newman INC,.Â
Agenda Item 2 is a recommendation for final contract payment of $719,116.33 to Kenall INC,, as part of stabilizing the effort of the City to implement request-based sidewalks throughout the City of Houston to meet the needs of its residence.
Agenda Item 5 is a recommendation for final contract payment of $3,142,704.81 to Caan Construction Services, INC., for Water Line Replacement in Briar Court Area. The City’s Water Replacement program aims to increase stabilization of availability of water, improve circulation and fire safety.
Agenda Item 7 is a recommendation from the Houston Public Works to purchase the property Parcel KY17-030, located at 0 Aldine Meadows Rd, for the easement acquisition for the 108-inch Water Line Project.
Agenda Item 18 is an ordinance authorizing an agreement between the City of Houston and William Marsh Rice University for the Benzene Air Quality Management Project for the Houston Health Department on a contract based on the maximum amount of $328,904.00 (Grant Fund).
Agenda Item 19 is an ordinance authorizing an agreement between the City of Houston and Environmental Defense Fund Incorporated for the Benzene Air Quality Management Project for the Houston Health Department on a contract based on the maximum amount of $145,000.00 (Grant Fund).
Agenda Item 42 is an ordinance to amend an agreement between the City of Houston and the Texas Water Board administering the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Flood Mitigation Assistance (FMA) Program for the extension of time.
Agenda Item 44 is an ordinance to approve Second Amendment to the Professional Engineering Services Contract with Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam INC., and appropriate funds for Highway 3 Distribution Water Line as part of the Southeast Transmission Water Line.
Agenda Item 45 is an ordinance to approve the Citywide Street and Traffic Rehabilitation 2 contract with SP Engineering., and appropriate funds. This project will serve as part of the Street and Traffic Capital Improvement Program and its functionality is needed to meet City design and safety standards and improve traffic mobility.
