Description: The Implementation Plan for Total Maximum Daily Loads for Bacteria in the Houston-Galveston Region continues to be reviewed by the TCEQ. After their review, TCEQ will solicit public comment. I will keep you posted on the progress.

The BIG annual meeting will be on Tuesday, May 22, 2012, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, in H-GAC’s Conference Room A, Second Floor. Lunch will be served. (If you are willing to help sponsor lunch, please contact me directly.) The agenda, available at www.h-gac.com/BIG, will include:

Updates to the ground rules
Review of water quality
Presentations from TCEQ on its review of the I-Plan and new TMDLs in the BIG area
Consideration of possible revisions to the I-Plan in response to TCEQ comments and work group recommendations
Reports on implementation activities in an open house style followed by an interactive discussion and evaluation of progress

After meeting with work groups and receiving their input, H-GAC has been drafting sections of the I-Plan. The draft sections will be sent out to the work groups for review and will also be posted online. If you do not currently receive e-mails for particular work groups, but would like to be notified when specific draft sections of the annual report are available, please let me know. I hope to have a draft report available two weeks before the meeting.
