Title: Easter at the Sauer-Beckmann Living History Farm
Location: Lyndon B. Johnson SP & HS – Sauer-Beckmann Living History Farm
Link out: Click here
Description: Celebrate Easter as a traditional 1915 German farm family would have. See natural-dyed Easter eggs, lamb cake baked from scratch and carefully crafted grass Easter nests as they would have been made by the early settlers. Experience the old-time traditions of friendship card giving and make your own to share. Spring brings an abundance of new baby animals and chicks in the barnyard. The squealing pigs, bleating lambs and cheeping chicks are always a delight to the younger visitors. This is also the season for shearing the sheep and producing an abundance of wool. See the many ways for making everyday clothes or those for special occasions from the wool and the farm raised cotton fibers. Accessible for the mobility, visually and hearing impaired.
