Texas Community Watershed Partners seeks Program Coordinator

Texas Community Watershed Partners (a part of Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, Disaster Assessment and Recovery Unit) in Houston, TX is seeking applications for a Program Coordinator II. This position will work out of our office in the Clear Lake Houston area (near Johnson Space Center) as part of the Green Infrastructure for Texas (GIFT) program. The Program Coordinator II, under general supervision, works collaboratively with leadership to plan, develop and implement programs. They will help lead and support green infrastructure planning and education efforts along the Texas Coast. Responsibilities include planning and hosting educational workshops for community stakeholders, preparing and delivering trainings both in person and virtually for a wide variety of audiences, developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, work on grant reports and applications, and project scoping, as well as other tasks to related to GIFT Program efforts. Cross-training on related projects, such as stormwater wetland installation or water quality data collection and reporting may occur within the program. This position will supervise 2-4 staff.

Responsibilities:
• Analyzes, interprets, summarizes, and presents technical information and ideas in an effective manner.
• Assists in establishing short- and long-term goals and strategic planning.
• Plans and hosts educational workshops for community stakeholders, preparing and delivering trainings both in person and virtually for a wide variety of audiences. In person workshops and training may require lifting or moving moderate weight objects up to 40 lbs.
• Develops and updates training materials and delivers training.
• Develops and maintains relationships with stakeholders.
• Plans, implements and evaluates programs. Assists in establishing goals, objectives, policies and procedures.
• Collaborates with others to create new and expanded programs.
• Effectively represents Extension in meetings with community, business, and professional groups, and the public.
• Prepares reports on program activities.
• Supervises program staff.
• Assists in preparation and monitoring of budgets for programs and events.
• Identifies and pursues funding opportunities. Works on grant reports and applications, and project scoping.
• May cross-train on related projects, such as stormwater wetland installation, or water quality data collection and reporting.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Four years of related experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
• Ability to lift or move moderate weight objects up to 40 lbs.

Other Requirements:
• Overnight travel is required.
