Our annual Earth Day at Discovery Green is back, and there are various opportunities to volunteer. We need volunteers to make Earth Day as enjoyable as possible, so even if you only have a few hours, come down and help out. We need you!

Earth Day Houston 2022: Exhibitor & Volunteer Check In
Shifts: 8am-11am, 11am-2pm, 2pm-5pm, 5pm-7pm
Description
Check-in volunteers and exhibitors upon arrival; check out volunteers upon departure.
Outdoors. Masks optional.
Youth under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Youth under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
Earth Day Houston 2022: Lawn Games Facilitator
Shifts: 11:30am-2pm, 1:30pm-4pm, 3:30pm-6pm
Description
Help with setup of “Lawn Scrabble†and children’s large foam building blocks, monitor area, and facilitate play (which mostly means: play so other people will join you!)
Outdoors. Masks optional.
Youth under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Youth under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
Earth Day Houston 2022: Load-In & Break-Down Crew
Shifts: 8am-11am, 4pm-7pm
Description
In morning, help place and unfold chairs and lightweight tables at exhibitor booths; in evening, return them to truck for storage. Use carts to move tables and chairs.
Assist exhibitors with load-in of materials in morning or break-down at end of day. Heavy lifting not required, but optional. Generally involves watching over materials during set-up and break-down to avoid losses.

Earth Day Houston 2022: Recycling Ambassador
Shifts: 9:30am-12pm, 11:30am-2pm, 1:30pm-4pm, 3:30pm-6pm
Description
First shift will set up recycle, compost, and landfill bins with signs to help participants divert their recyclable and compostable items from the landfill waste.
All Recycling Ambassadors will receive a quick training and help participants see which containers to put their recyclable and compostable items in versus what goes into the regular trash.
No trash touching required!
