Houston City Council Agenda – January 26, 2021
The city will consider the following agenda items at the Houston City Council meeting scheduled for Tuesday, January 26, 2021, which will be held virtually via Microsoft Teams starting at 1:50 PM. Public comment will be allowed Tuesday, January 26, 2021 by teleconference. Topics to be addressed in this meeting include the placement of Air Monitors in Hartman Park, sewer system repairs, the confirmation of several individuals to the Board of Directors of the Old Spanish Trail/Almeda Corridors Zone, the Luce Bayou Systems Project, the creation of a new Municipal Utility District, among other topics.
- Agenda Item 1 is a request from the Mayor for confirmation of the appointment or reappointment of several individuals to the Board of Directors of the Old Spanish Trail/Almeda Corridors Zone.
- Agenda Item 2 is a request from the Mayor for confirmation of the appointment or reappointment of several individuals to the Board of Directors of the Old Spanish Trail/Almeda Corridors Redevelopment Authority.
- Agenda Item 4 is a recommendation from the Director of Houston Public Works for approval of the 2021 Operation and Maintenance Budget for the Luce Bayou Systems Project operated by the Coastal Water Authority at a cost of $3,708,700.
- Agenda Item 7 is a recommendation from the Director of Houston Public Works for approval of the final contract amount of $2,137,789 and acceptance of work on contract with McKinney Construction, INC, for Water Line Replacement in the Binglewood Area.
- Agenda Item 8 is a recommendation from the City Attorney to deposit the amount of the Award of Special Commissions into the Registry of the Court and pay all costs of court in connection with eminent domain proceedings styled City of Houston v. Akshaj Hotels for West Ridge Regional Lift Station Construction Project.
- Agenda Item 9 is related to the acquisition of Purge Blowers from The Spencer Turbine Company for Houston Public Works at a cost of $193,830.
- Agenda Item 11 is related to the purchase of a Belt Press Conveyor from Diarco LLC for Houston Public Works at a cost of $39,730.
- Agenda Item 12 is related to the purchase of Radar Sensors for Liquid Level Detection in Wastewater Operations from Planet Cellular LLC for Houston Public Works at a cost of $21,060.
- Agenda Item 14 is related to the purchase of Various Types and Sizes of Pumps and Accessories from several vendors for Houston Public Works at a total cost of $4,823,011.
- Agenda Item 28 is an ordinance approving and authorizing the Interlocal Agreement between the City of Houston, Texas and Harris County for Placement and Maintenance of Air Monitors at Hartman Park.
- Agenda Item 30 is an ordinance consenting to the creation of Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 576, containing approximately 617 acres of land within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of Houston, Texas.
- Agenda Item 31 is an ordinance consenting to the addition of 131.516 acres of land to Fort Bend County Municipal Utility District No. 168.
- Agenda Item 32 is an ordinance issuing a permit to Baymark Pipeline LLC to Construct, Operate, Maintain, Improve, Repair and Replace One New Pipeline in certain portions of specified public street right-of-way and prescribing the conditions and provisions under which the permit is issued.
- Agenda Item 33 is an ordinance appropriating $1,533,000 out of Water & Sewer System Consolidated Construction Fund; approving and authorizing a Professional Engineering Services Contract between the City of Houston and Amani Engineering, INC for Sanitary Sewer Improvements.
- Agenda Item 34 is an ordinance appropriating $3,150,000 out of the Water & Sewer System Consolidated Construction Fund ; approving and authorizing a Professional Engineering Services Contract Between the City of Houston and HR Green, INC for Wastewater Operations Engineering Support Services.
- Agenda Item 35 is an ordinance appropriating $2,828,941 out of the Dedicated Drainage and Street Renewal Capital Fund and an additional $411,059 out of the Water & Sewer System Consolidated Construction Fund as an additional appropriation; approving and authorizing first amendment to a contract between the City of Houston and DL Glover, INC, for FY2020 Local Drainage Rehab Storm Water Action Team.
