Welcome 2016 Summer Interns: Jamie Clare Curry and Madelyn Wilson!

CEC is pleased to welcome two amazing summer interns! They will be helping the CEC with development and publications. Please join us in welcoming them.

Jamie-Clare Curry is a rising senior at Mississippi State University studying Educational Psychology and Communications Public Relations, graduating May 2017. While at Mississippi State, she works as a tutor for the Athletic Department. Jamie-Clare grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where she learned the importance of being a good steward of the environment. She also has three brothers, which she believes have given her enough patience to last a lifetime. Her parents, Jay and Marsha Curry, recently moved to Tomball, and she is looking forward to learning more about the Houston area this summer as she lives and works in Houston. The city of Houston has a special place in her heart because it’s where she adopted her puppy, whom she has fondly named Houston.

Madelyn Wilson is a senior at the University of  Houston double majoring in political science and public relations with a minor in national securities studies. Madelyn recently returned from, D.C., after her internship in the office of Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee. Her primary responsibilities included writing memos on multiple briefings, organizing legislative binders for the Congresswoman, and assisting staff on floor statements. In particular, Madelyn wrote multiple floor statements on Veteran Affairs and benefits. Madelyn was the main liaison for the Congresswoman with appropriation submissions. Madelyn is extremely excited to worked as the Development and Journalism intern for Citizens’ Environmental Coalition because of the endless opportunities to give back to her hometown of  Houston. Madelyn plans to attend law school after graduation and pursue a career in the Department of Education.
