LAKE HOUSTON PARK NATURE CENTER OPENS FRIDAY

The new nature center at Lake Houston Park will have its grand opening on Friday, November 9. The ribbon cutting will be at 10 am. The only nature center features several themed rooms – a Southeast Texas eco-system and cultural room, a wetlands room (live alligators, snakes, amphibians, turtles, fish, crustaceans & more), a mounted and live invertebrate room, and a zoo-quality reptile room featuring dozens of indigenous reptiles. The festivities include a guided bird walk at 8:30 am, an open house from 10 am until 1 pm and a 4-wheel safari tour of Lake Isabele at 1 pm.Lake Houston Park is at Lake Houston Park is located at 22301 Baptist Encampment Rd., New Caney.
