Hermann Park Centennial Exhibition @ Julia Ideson Building | Houston | Texas | United States
Houston’s Hermann Park: A Century of Community will be the topic of a lecture by Barrie Scardino Bradley, author of a new book on the first 100 years of Hermann Park of the same title. The lecture and reception is sponsored by the Friends of the Texas Room at the Houston Public Library’s Central Branch downtown. The event will take place in the first floor auditorium of the library’s Julia Ideson Building. A new exhibit on the history of Hermann Park will be on view upstairs in the library’s Tudor Gallery. The exhibition will be on view May 24 through July 26, 2014.
A reception will begin at 6 p.m. followed by the program at 7 p.m. This event and the exhibition is free and open to the public. Books will be on sale before the lecture.

The exhibition is presented in partnership with Hermann Park Conservancy, Houston Public Library, the City of Houston, and the Houston Parks and Recreation Department. Special thanks to Friends of the Texas Room at the Houston Public Library, Danielle Burns, and Houston History Magazine.

Parking is available underneath the adjacent Jones Building accessed from Lamar Avenue, or on the street. Vouchers for parking in the library’s garage will be available at the lecture. R.S.V.P. is not required.
