Buffalo Bayou Park—Shepherd to Sabine Community Meeting

October 24, 2013 – 6 to 8 p.m.

WHAT: Buffalo Bayou Partnership invites Houstonians to hear updates on the latest improvements at Buffalo Bayou Park, the 160-acre, 2.3-mile bayou stretch from Shepherd Drive to Sabine Street.


With a historic $30 million catalyst gift from the Kinder Foundation, BBP is leading enhancements at Buffalo Bayou Park – Shepherd to Sabine in a strong public-private partnership with the City of Houston led by the Houston Parks & Recreation Department and Harris County Flood Control District. Construction began in mid-2012 and the entire project is expected to be complete in mid-2015. See an overview of the project.


Items to be highlighted at the October 24th meeting include:

  • ·         Progress  on the footpaths and landscaping throughout the park
  • ·         Construction overview of work at Eleanor Tinsley Park, Lost Lake, trail lighting
  • ·         Upcoming construction starts on the official dog park, playground and The Water Works

There will be an opportunity for park users to ask questions following the presentation.
