The ideal candidate is a strong leader and manager with excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and problem-solving skills. Must be self-motivated and one who is good at multi-tasking, meeting deadlines, networking, prioritizing conflicting demands and interested in growing with the organization. A Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two years of experience in non-profit management is preferred. Previous animal-care services background is a plus but not mandatory. Houston Environmental News Update July 13, 2016

photo (13)If you haven’t done so already, please make plans to join us tomorrow, July 14, from 4-7 pm, for an informal celebration of CEC’s 45th anniversary. We’ll have libations, snacks, and, of course, cake to celebrate. Even better, you’ll have a chance to mingle with some of the most interesting and committed members of our environmental community. Our office is in a 100-year-old school building just outside downtown at 751 Silver St. Look for the ‘web’ of well over 100 environmental organizations.

On another note…  Al Gore and The Climate reality Project will be here in Houston training new members of its leadership corps in August. The deadline to apply is July 20, 2016.

Bayou Preservation Association seeks Office Manager/ Executive Assistant/ Website Administrator

Responsible for providing administrative support to committees of the Board of Directors and the Executive Director to increase support for and awareness of Bayou Preservation Association and its mission. Responsibilities: Provide office presence for incoming phone calls, emails and paper mail; represent the Bayou Preservation Association and direct inquiries to appropriate staff or board members; update and maintain Bayou Preservation Association general website; coordinate with other staff and consultants and board members for materials for website; maintain membership, email and mailing databases, process donations, send acknowledgements for organization; implement and execute annual membership and/or annual campaign including communicating with the printers about mailing deadlines, updating database with new memberships, and sending acknowledgements; maintain online membership donations and renewals and sending acknowledgements; and more.
