Houston Parks and Recreation Department seeks Natural Resource and Water Quality Interns

The City of Houston Parks and Recreation Department is seeking interns who will work as a part of the Natural Resources Management Program team. The interns’ primary focus will be on multiple riparian forest habitat restoration projects within City of Houston Parks. Daily tasks will include removing invasive species and installing native trees along Sims Bayou. Monthly water sampling will take place at each of the sites through the Texas Stream Team program. Interns will also assist with HPARD’s plant propagation program, in which plants are grown to be installed at various habitat restoration projects throughout Houston. Interns will be trained on propagation techniques for growing trees, grasses, and other native plants from seed. For the full description and to apply, visit thesca.org.
