Houston Natural Resources Management Program seeks Heavy Equipment Worker

The Houston Parks and Recreation Department’s Natural Resources Management Program is seeking a heavy equipment worker (conservation). The heavy equipment worker will support the Natural Resources Management Programs’ habitat restoration projects by driving equipment to different work sites, mowing prairie restoration areas with a batwing mower, watering tree plantings, transporting trees to their planting locations, and other equipment work as needed. Additional tasks include tree planting,  greenhouse and tree farm work, prairie and forest restoration field work. The Natural Resources Management Program oversees all natural areas with the City of Houston’s 380 public parks. The program manages five prairie restoration sites, and is currently implementing HPARD’s riparian restoration initiative. In this initiative, we are targeting all parks adjacent to waterways for reforestation and habitat enhancement. Candidates must have a Commercial Driver’s License. This is a permanent, full time staffing position with HPARD with benefits. Please contact NaturalResources@houstontx.gov if interested in applying.
