Houston City Council Agenda – November 17, 2020

The city will consider the following agenda items at the Houston City Council meeting scheduled for Tuesday, November 17, 2020, which will be held virtually via Microsoft Teams at 1:50 PM. Public comment will be allowed Tuesday, November 17, 2020 by teleconference. This meeting will cover topics relating to the Westridge Regional Lift Station Construction Project, loan and grant applications to the Texas Water Development Board’s Flood Infrastructure Fund, the expansion of several Municipal Utility Districts, and tax abatements for Green Stormwater Infrastructure and LEED Projects, among other topics.

  • Agenda Item 4 is a recommendation from the City Attorney to deposit the amount of the Award of Special Commissioners into the Registry of the Court an d pay all costs of court in connection with eminent domain proceedings styled City of Houston v. Heang Lim; for acquisition of a parcel of land for the Westridge Regional Lift Station Construction Project.
  • Agenda Item 11 is a resolution authorizing the City to make a loan application with the Texas Water Development Board’s Flood Infrastructure Fund.
  • Agenda Item 12 is an ordinance approving and authorizing the submission of a grant application under the Texas Water Development Board Flood Infrastructure Fund to construct Stormwater Infrastructure in the Wynnewood Acres Area.
  • Agenda Item 26 is an ordinance appropriating $17,614,639 out of the Water & Sewer System Consolidated Construction Fund; approving and authorizing a contract between the City of Houston and Sensus USA INC for installation of an Advanced Metering Infrastructure System for Houston Public Works.
  • Agenda Item 30 is an ordinance consenting to the addition of 16.740 acres of land to Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 167.
  • Agenda Item 31 is an ordinance consenting to the addition of 1.343 acres of land to Spring Creek Utility District.
  • Agenda Item 32 is an ordinance consenting to the addition of 31.14 acres of land to Southern Montgomery County Municipal Utility District.
  • Agenda Item 35 is an ordinance appropriating $12,171,326 out of the Water & Sewer System Consolidated Construction Fund, awarding a contract to LEM Construction Company, INC, for Sims Bayou South Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvements.
  • Agenda Item 36 seeks to set a public hearing date regarding proposed amendments to the City’s Tax Abatement Ordinance relating to Green Stormwater Infrastructure and LEED Projects. The suggested hearing date is Wednesday, December 9, at 9:00 AM.
