Houston City Council Agenda – October 6, 2020

The city will consider the following agenda items at the Houston City Council meeting scheduled for Tuesday, September 6, 2020, which will be held virtually via Microsoft Teams at 1:30 PM. Public comment will be allowed Tuesday, October 6, 2020 by teleconference. This meeting will cover topics such as the applications for grant funding through state and federal grant programs, the appropriation of funds from the Water & Sewer System Consolidated Construction Fund and the Dedicated Drainage and Street Renewal Capital Fund, the expansion of numerous Municipal Utility Districts.

  • Agenda Item 3 is a recommendation from the City Attorney to deposit the amount of the Award of Special Commissioners into the Registry of the Country and pay all costs associated with eminent domain proceedings styles City go Houston v.   • Agenda Item 5 is a purchase of a Thermal Desorber- Gas Chromatograph/Mass Spectrometer for the Houston Health Department at a cost of $99,992.
  • Agenda Item 7 is a purchase to Furnish and Install Electric Actuators for Houston Public Works at a cost of $204,506.
  • Agenda Item 9 is an ordinance authorizing the submission of an application for Grant Funding through the FEMA FY19 Fire Prevention and Safety Grant.
  • Agenda Item 11 is an ordinance authorizing the submission of an application for Grant Assistance to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (“TECQ”) for the Texas Volkswagen Emission Reduction Program.
  • Agenda Item 12 is an ordinance authorizing the submission of 7 grant application for Grant Assistance to the Texas General Land Office for Flood Mitigation Projects Through the Federal Housing and Urban Development Department’s Community Development Block Grant – Mitigation Program.
  • Agenda Item 13 is an ordinance authorizing the submission of a grant application under the Texas Water Development Board Flood Infrastructure Fund to develop a Stormwater Modeling Tool for Sims Bayou Watershed and to initiate the One Water Collaborative Planning Process.
  • Agenda Item 27 appropriates $111,008 out of Parks Special Fund; authorizing remittance to Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
  • Agenda Item 28 is an ordinance adding 45.580 acres of land to the Bammel Utility District.
  • Agenda Item 29 is an ordinance adding 5.1014 acres of land to Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 24.
  • Agenda Item 30 is an ordnance adding 9.530 acres of land to Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 368.
  • Agenda Item 31 is an ordinance adding 9.99 acres of land to Harris County Municipal District No. 542.
  • Agenda Item 32 is an ordinance adding 2.4844 acres of land to Sunbelt Fresh Water Supply District of Harris County, Texas.
  • Agenda Item 33 is an ordinance appropriating $2,886,718 out of the Water & Sewer System Consolidated Construction Fund for the North Corridor Consolation Package 4-36″ Gravity Sewer.
  • Agenda Item 34 is an ordinance appropriating $207,334 out of the Water & Sewer System Consolidated Construction Fund for the North Corridor Consolidation Package 1; Northgate Regional Pump Station-37 MGD Lift Station at Northgate and Force Mains.
  • Agenda Item 35 is an ordinance appropriating $13,808,300 out of the Water & Sewer System Consolidated Construction Fund for Groundwater Facility, Re-Pump Station, HVAC & Ventilation System Improvements at Various Locations.
  • Agenda Item 36 is an ordinance appropriating $12,640,000 out of the Water & Sewer System Consolidated Construction Fund for 69th Street WWTP Electrical Substation Rehabilitation/Replacement.
  • Agenda Item 37 is an ordinance appropriating $3,425,000 out of the Dedicated Drainage and Street Renewal Capital Fund, for the FY2021 Local Drainage Program.
