Citizens’ Environmental Coalition seeks a recent college graduate for a six-month, paid internship to build a digital environmental education program for students to interact virtually with biologists and wildlife from various locations across the Gulf Coast region to build environmental literacy.
Working with partners, the candidate will bring synchronous programming to the region. They will arrange to go to one new, natural location per week, to connect classrooms and students to significant places in the region. This includes the beaches, Pineywoods, prairies, and urban forests. They will also build a digital library of asynchronous programming to be used by educators in digital classrooms to increase environmental literacy and correspond with state learning objectives. Content will be housed on hereinhouston.org.
