Westside High School seeks Environmental Educator

Houston Independent School District’s Westside High School is seeking an Environmental Educator. Join an established program that applies a place-based curriculum to teach environmental issues and solutions through the history, economy, culture and ecology of Houston as shaped by the Prairie-Forest-Bayou-Bay-Gulf ecosystems of Southeast Texas.  Be part of a professional team which seeks to expand environmental awareness and cultivate an ethic of stewardship in Houston’s youth. Help us expand our hands-on curriculum in the classroom, to develop our one-acre on-campus bio-resilience restoration project, to grow our school food garden while also exploring Houston via numerous field classes throughout the year.  Westside High School is a comprehensive Houston ISD high school.  Salary follows HISD pay scale.  Secondary science teaching certificate required but can be completed during summer 2020.  Contact Carolyn Klein for more information or to submit your resume at [email protected]
