The purpose of the Native Plant Society of Texas is promote the research, conservation and utilization of native plants and plant habitats of Texas through education, outreach and example.
The Houston Chapter presents Wildscapes Workshop, our annual, one-day educational event and local native plant sale, co-sponsored by Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. Hurricane Harvey forced us to cancel last year, so this year’s event is highly anticipated. We’re sure to sell out, so register early!
This year’s 20th anniversary event will involve four featured speakers in an effort to provide up-to-date information on the relationship between native plants and our local wildlife and environment, and Houston’s prairie history, culture, and its future.
We’ll have four great presentations, coffee and snacks in the morning, box lunch and tea, nature related book sale and raffle, and then of course our native plant sale, many of these grown from locally sourced seed.
